Your professors are teachers first and foremost: their job is to open up the black box and expose you to new possibilities and new experiences based on the latest management research. But your professors are also mentors and coaches. They will expect you to reflect on and test out new concepts, and reshape your actions to achieve better performance. It’s a dynamic process – moving from the abstract to the concrete and back again. But that is what great leaders do every day.

You will benefit directly from the fact that our Executive MBA program is jointly sponsored by the Universities of Calgary and Alberta. Both business schools are accredited by the AACSB – The International Association for Management Education. By pooling our resources, we have 140 professors – the largest business faculty in the country and the depth to ensure that you get the very best professor in a particular discipline. Faculty are PhD qualified and have won numerous university teaching honours and national honours such as the 3M Teaching Fellowship and the National Post “Leaders in Management Eduction” Award. The faculty stay current by doing consulting work for leading companies internationally, and by teaching in executive development programs.

Our faculty are a valuable resource, not only while you’re in the program but, for the rest of your professional career.

Teaching in the Executive MBA program is a wonderful opportunity to work closely with a group of very talented individuals in a much more substantive way than is normally possible. As an instructor, I can provide one-on-one coaching that focuses on the business issues that matter most to them and their organizations. As a scientist, I learn about the challenges and issues facing this generation of business leaders.
