The Manager as Strategist
Identifying
and developing the human resources, leadership and strategy skills essential
for todays successful executive. Conduct a strategic audit on students
organizations including strategic plan, mission and goals.

Managing Human Resources
Developing
the ability to create the organizations human resources strategy;
creating HR systems; and developing interpersonal effectiveness both as
a leader and a team member.
Financial Accounting
Reporting
of financial results of operations and financial positions to investors
and managers; the use of accounting information for decision making.
Data Analysis and Modeling
Developing
the ability to collect information and to use information technology to
analyze statistically and draw conclusions, developing computer skills,
and understanding research methods.
Business Economics
Outlining
the main schools of economic theory, macroeconomic tools and the effects
of macroeconomic policy on business performance; reviewing decision-making
processes of individual firms, as well as consumer behaviour, price and
theory, marginal analysis and forms of competition.
Winter Semester
One-Week
Intensive Course
Financial Analysis and Decision Making
Mastering
cash flow analysis, short-term financing pro formas, the assessment of
financial performance, ratio analysis and the role of financial intermediaries.

Organizational
Planning and Control
Implementing financial performance measurement, evaluation and control
systems and organizational designs that enhance performance; understanding
organizational structures and processes.
Operations
Management
Understanding
the strategic role of operations in an enterprise and the relationship
between operations and other business functions; designing, implementing
and controlling an effective and efficient operating process.
Marketing
Focusing
on the role of marketing in determining the direction of an organization;
the customer-focused organization; opportunity identification; forecasting
demand; marketing segmentation; market planning and implementation.
Corporate Finance
Understanding
valuation, capital markets, venture capital, international markets, and
corporate risk management.

Fall Semester
One-Week Intensive Course
Managing the Business/Government Interface
Trends affecting business decision making; the regulatory
environment; business/government interfaces and the management of public
affairs.
Friday/Saturday Courses
Management of Technology/Innovation
Understanding the effects of information technology
on the management of the firm; integrating new technology into operations;
managing research and development.
International Business
The globalization of business, international trade and
trading blocks; planning for market entry and development; exporting;
joint ventures; direct investment; developing the skills of an international
manager.
Major Project
Students are required to negotiate, create and ready
a major project for implementation within their organization. The focus
of each project is highly unique reflecting the needs of the student and
his/her organization.
Elective
Students will have input into the selection of options
and will have a choice of electives.
Winter Semester

Corporate Strategy
Understanding corporate strategy and processes to mobilize
resources to achieve corporate objectives, industry and competitive analysis.
Leadership
Mastering the unique perspectives, tasks and responsibilities
of the executive in providing leadership to the organization; dynamic
rocesses of organizations; developing leadership skills.
Major Project (continued)
Elective
Students have a choice of electives.
International Study Tour
Analyze the challenges facing local companies in international
environments such as Asia or Eastern Europe and North American companies
entering those markets. An on-site visit to an nternational location will
take place.
